Five extra speakers!

June 15, 2009

To give you even more choice in sessions the conference will get a second track this year, which enables us to have room for 4 more awesome sessions!

  • Anne van Kesteren (Opera) will show off the latest HTML5 features;
  • Chris Wanstrath (GitHub) will share his vision and knowledge on Social Coding with Git;
  • Chris Chabot (Google) gives a talk about how the web is going social, what that means, and how you can use it;
  • Andy Smith (Google, Jaiku) & Mike Malone (Independent) will give a talk about Python web dev framework Django running on Google App Engine.

This completes the list of speakers, resulting in the best program we can offer. Sixteen speakers in total for the conference! And even more exciting sessions at the side events. You cannot miss this event if you are a web developer.

Leah Culver & Robert Gaal will host Kings of Code!

May 4, 2009

We're very excited to announce that Leah Culver will host Kings of Code together with Robert Gaal! They both don't need an introduction but for the record we'll do it anyway.

Leah Culver was a co-founder and lead developer of the micro-blogging website Pownce, which was acquired by blog juggernaut Six Apart. Now a software engineer at Six Apart, Leah uses her experience with Pownce to develop large scale social applications for future Six Apart projects. She co-authored both OAuth and OEmbed and maintains the Python OAuth library. Leah promotes open source, APIs, and the Django web framework on her blog at leahculver.com.

Robert Gaal hosted Kings of Code last year as well and did an excellent job. He's a co-founder of Wakoopa, a Dutch startup running a social network around software. Besides running his company he's still a web development guru coding in all kinds of languages.
